We want all visitors to feel welcome and comfortable at the Unicorns In Tech Summit. That’s why we attach great importance to making the various areas of the event as accessible as possible.
The SchwuZ has been tested according to the nationwide “Reisen für Alle” labeling system and will hold the “Accessibility Tested” certificate from December 2022 to November 2025.
The club is accessible without steps: visitors can easily enter the building via a ramp, a lift, or a stair lift. All other rooms accessible to visitors are also accessible without steps, and all doors are at least 90 cm wide.
Visitors with limited mobility should also note that the interior is easily accessible. The counters are 90 cm (cash register) and 120 cm (bars) high.
A barrier-free toilet is available and can be used with a Euro key (staff will assist if necessary). The toilet has generous space for movement, folding grab rails, a wheelchair-accessible sink, a mirror that can be used while sitting or standing, and an emergency call cord. There are also several unisex toilets.
Visitors with hearing impairments should be aware of the following: There is no induction loop system or technical means of communicating with staff. In an emergency, the normal club lighting is switched off and the emergency lighting is activated. There are no visual alarm signals.
At the entrance, people with visual impairments will find a high-contrast change in flooring that makes the entrance more recognizable. However, there are no guide strips, high-contrast steps, or Braille signage. The stairs have a handrail on one side. Assistance dogs are not permitted at the afterwork party to make sure they don’t get overwhelmed and their paws stay away from injuries.
There are also helpful features for visitors with cognitive disabilities: the club is easily recognizable from the outside, and the drinks are visibly displayed at the bars. However, a guidance system or information in easy-to-read language or pictograms are not currently available.
